Frequently asked questions.
How do free estimates work?
***Please note, that an estimate is different than an assessment. Free estimates are for getting measurements, material choices, and planning for any possible obstacles during installation. The estimator is not insured to climb ladders or on the roof. If you are looking for an assessment of your gutters’ condition, we do offer cleanings with a free assessment.***
For both gutter installation and gutter guard installation, we set up an appointment date and time within a two hour window for our arrival time. Our representative will contact you with an ETA when they are on their way. Upon arrival, we will come to your door to meet with you, unless otherwise noted. At this time, we will take measurements and offer material choices.
For gutter repairs it is best to send pictures and / or videos of the issue you are experiencing. That way we can diagnose and give you a proper estimate for the repair.
For gutter cleanings, our office will take down your information and we will estimate your job based on linear footage, height and difficulty of the job. We may ask follow up questions in order to get a better idea of what we are working with. Then we will email you an official estimate.
I have gutter guards. Will you clean underneath them?
We do not remove gutter guards when cleaning your gutters. If your gutter guards need to be cleaned underneath, then they are not functioning properly and you may want to consider replacement. In addition, the time and labor it costs to uninstall and then reinstall your guards would be prohibitively expensive and it would have to be charged out as gutter guard installation.
My gutter installation date is coming up. What should I do to prepare for your arrival?
There are a few things you can do to prepare for our arrival:
Please have cash or check ready, as it is due upon completion of the work. We also accept electronic check, and for a three percent fee, credit card.
Please remove any hornet, yellow jacket, or wasp nests around your gutters, fascia, eaves and soffits. Getting stung by one of these can be extremely dangerous when a worker is on a ladder.
Move any items around your house that may impact or slow our gutter technicians down. Make sure to move any valuable items that could be damaged or destroyed during installation.
Ensure vehicles are in a location that allow our technicians to work around the house. Our team of gutter installers will be arriving with a full size truck and trailer. Gutters are formed out of the back of that trailer. We will need plenty of space. If you need to leave during installation, have your car parked in a place that allows you to get out when needed.
Be prepared to speak with our crew leader about any special requests or circumstances (e.g. please be careful around this garden, we want to move the location of that downspout, I saw a snake in that bush today)
Can I buy gutter materials from you?
No, unfortunately we do not offer gutter materials for purchase, nor do we offer “chop and drops.” We are a gutter and gutter guard installation company. Our reputation is based off of our quality workmanship and our friendly, knowledgeable gutter installation experts.
How much do gutters cost?
Gutter installation starts at $10 per foot and can vary depending on several factors including corners, height, gutter take down, roof pitch and difficulty of the job. Our minimum to run gutter starts at $595.
What types of gutters do you offer?
Blue Mountain Gutter Company is currently offering 5 and 6 inch “K Style” seamless gutters in several different colors. We use 0.027 inch aluminum with some colors available in 0.032 inch aluminum for commercial properties.
We also offer several types of downspouts, including standard downspouts in 3x4 and 2x3 (only in white), 4 inch round downspouts, and smooth box downspouts.
At this time, we are not offering half round gutters. We also do not offer galvalume or steel gutters.
Where do you source your materials from?
We buy our gutter materials only from reputable sources of high quality aluminum. We never buy from discount suppliers. Our gutter coil and downspouts come from two primary sources:
Mastic - Ply Gem from Lansing Building Products in Fletcher, NC
Norandex from ABC Supply in Swannanoa, NC
Our standard internal brackets / hangers are Raytec Hangtite Hidden Hangers, the strongest hidden hangers in the industry.
What gutter and downspout colors do you offer?
Our primary selection of gutter colors is listed below. However, we do offer other colors from ABC Supply like the NX Bronze or Redwood colors. We can also special order colors such as Copper Penny (special orders require material deposit). If you are looking for a color that is not listed, feel free to reach out and see if we can get it for you!
